This is a beautiful, long embroidered textile from the Tai-Lu (Thai-Lue) people of southern Laos and Northern Thailand. Traditionally this would be wrapped around a woman's head with the embroidered parts exposed on either side of her face. The textile is shown folded over in the photograph to the left, so it is actually twice as long (dimensions below) with matching embroidery at each end. The textile is black cotton with cotton embroidery; a fine example of Tai-Lu workmanship! Measurements: 68" long by 14 1/2" wide (173 cm x 37 cm) #21688 SOLD
