Tibetan Gao and Coral Necklace
Tibetan gaus, or prayer boxes, are portable shrines where verses and prayers are kept, close to the owner's heart. This gau is detailed with traditional Tibetan motifs and inlaid with red coral and turquoise. The copper back is removable and can accommodate the new owner's secret verses, relics, or prayers.
This elegant gau is combined with beautiful 12mm coral beads, strung and knotted on silk, which show all of the natural color variations and occlusions found in these organic beads. Tibetans believe coral brings strength to a woman.
