18th/19th c. Silver Votive Buddha from Laos This Laotian Buddha is formed from thin fine silver sheet, embossed and laid over a core of hardened lac or resin. This type of votive Buddha was usually brought by a devotee to their Temple as an offering. The Buddha is wonderful condition with his highly stylized earlobes in tact. There is Laotian Buddhist script encircling the base (photo detail below) making this Buddha indeed a treasure. Measurement: 2 1/2", 6.35 cm #21979 $195 |
