Rare 18th c. Inscribed Thai Lead Buddhist Temple Plaque This ancient lead plaque with its beautiful and intricate relief of Buddha once hung on a wall inside a Buddhist Temple in Northern Thailand near Burma. The heavy tile, no longer completely flat, shows only minor loss to the red lacquer and gold leaf that once covered the tile. The back of the plaque is lightly etched with sacred Lanna Buddhist inscriptions. This is truly a rare treasure for any collection of Buddhist or devotional art!
