19th Spanish Colonial Black Madonna This is a beautiful and rare Spanish Colonial black Madonna in carved & polychromed wood. Her arms are slightly moveable and undoubtedly wire under the wrappings and attached to carved wooden hands. Her head has carved points around the scalp, most likely to hold a wig and crown in place, now lost to time. Although I purchased her in Bolivia, the style seems to be from the Philippines. She is a beauty and would be a great addition to any Spanish colonial collection. Measurements: 15 1/2" high #23285         $1900
