Antique 2-Sided Relicario, Reliquary

This is an absolutely charming antique 2-sided relicario, or reliquary from Bolivia depicting the Virgen de la Candelaria with the Baby Jesus; the obserse with a wonderful portrayal of San Antonio with the Christ Niño. The paintings are absolutely sweet with a beautiful folk quality. The oils on metal have an original punch hole at the top, with the silver casing probably added at a later date (most probably early 20th c.). The relicario is in good condition, with some minor surface scratches to the front glass, otherwise in good condition with years of devotional use. The knit cord is original to the piece.
