19th c. Spanish Colonial Silver Retablo

This is one of the most beautiful silver retablos I have seen! The retablo was once the top of a baptismal font from a chapel in Potosí Bolivia that was dismantled in the early 20th c. The retablo has been formed entirely with repoussé and the images of San Jose and the Santo Christ Niño are absolutely exquisite with beautiful detailing. They are depicted in the center of colonial shell designs, typical of baptismal fonts. There are some bends in the silver from the years (they could be smoothed by a restorer; I think it only adds to the charm!), otherwise it is in beautiful condition - this is a wonderful and rare retablo.
