Antique Alabaster Niño de Praga Santo The Niño de Praga, or the Christ Child depicted as the Infant of Prague, is represented in this beautifully rendered alabaster, known as huamanga, carving from South America. The Niño of Prague originated in the Czech republic and the image, highly venerated in Spain, was brought to the colonial "new world" in the 16th century. This beautiful image was hand carved and finely painted in South America in the early 20th century. The Niño is in wonderful condition and is a beautiful portrayal of the Christ Child - a treasure!
