19th c. Spanish Colonial Relicario

This is a beautiful small relicario from Bolivia depicting the Virgen and Child in the typical Andean stylized manner. The verso is a beautiful rendering of San Antonio and the Christ Child. The Madonna has been embellished with pan de oro, or gold leaf, typical of 18th and 19th c. reliquaries. The silver casing and glass are original. This is a small treasure for any Spanish colonial religious art collection!
