Antique Spanish Colonial Santo Aureola, Crown This is a rare and wonderful 19th century Spanish colonial silver aureola, or Santo crown from South America. The high content silver corona is deeply chased using the repousse method with beautiful traditional Spanish colonial foliage designs as well as the beautiful central image of Jesus with the world in His hand. The heavy silver crown has lost the spike that would have attached it to a Santo or Madonna at one time, otherwise it is in perfect condition. This is a rare and wonderful corona! Measurements: 8" wide, interior opening is 6 3/4" ; 116 grams of silver #22407 $790 |
