Old Native American Quechua/Aymara
Woven Headband, Wincha

This is a beautiful traditional hand woven headband known as a wincha from the Bolivian Andes. The Aymara/Quechua cultures wear these beautifully woven bands around their heads during ceremonies and celebrations. The textile has been very tightly hand woven from llama and sheep wool. The designs are wonderful with beautiful ancient stylized birds and horses featured on both sides. The textile is in good condition with only wear consistent with an old textile; it would look beautiful framed! This is a wonderful traditional textile for any collection!
