Old Laotian Hmong Spirit Lock

This beautiful spirit lock is from the Hmong cultural group of Laos, Thailand and China. Spirit Locks are worn by the Hmong to "lock" the soul, or spirit, of the person into his or her body. They are given to children in traditional soul-calling ceremonies and worn throughout their lives. This old lock with a floral motif on one side and writing on the other, is formed from high content silver and hung from an adjustable leather cord. This is a small devotional treasure!

Measurements: Lock is approx. 1 3/4 " x 1 1/8" (42mm x 28mm)

Length of leather cord is 17" - 19"
