18th/19th c. Lead and Silver Chan Buddha

This is a fine Chan Buddha from Burma from the late 18th or early 19th century. Finely cast from a combination of silver and lead, the beautiful decorative qualities of Chan Buddhist art is apparent in this piece. There is partial loss to the base and the presence of sedimentary deposits leads me to believe this is excavated piece. This is a wonderful addition to any collection of Burmese Buddhist art.

Measurement: Lead Buddha is 4" (10.2 cm) high; with the stand: 5 1/2" (14 cm)
