19th Century Nepalese Mayadevi

This is a beautifully carved solid 19th century wooden architectural element from a Nepalese house. The female figure represents Mayadevi, the mother of the Siddharta Gautama Buddha, with her attributes of the fly whisk above her head and her feet resting on a lotus blossom.
