19th c. Spanish Colonial Retablo Santo Domingo

This is a beautiful depiction of Santo Domingo, or Saint Dominic, the founder of the Catholic order of the Dominican Friars. The retablo is oil on tin with beautiful gold pan de oro highlights on the Santo's halo, staff and robes - his face is exquisite! There are 3 small splits on the sides, and some paint loss as noted below in the details, otherwise a beautiful and rare painting of this saint. This is a treasure for any Spanish colonial religious art collection!
