Antique Spanish Colonial Silver Santo Cristo

This is a rare finely formed solid silver Christ figure, or Cristo from Potosí, Bolivia. The 19th c. Cristo is a moving depiction of the Christ Crucified. He has been cast in solid high content silver with careful detailing to his face (note the beautiful stylized hair, typical of 18th and 19th c. depictions) and the cloth gracefully tied around His waist. The Cristo rests on a black presentation stand (He is removable). This is a fine and highly collectible devotional item from Spanish colonial America.

Measurement: approx. 6 1/8" high with stand; Cristo is 4 1/3" long, 110.5 grams
