19th c. Spanish Colonial Silver Incensario, Sahumador

This is a beautiful antique silver sahumador, or incense burner from Potosí, Bolivia. The republican era (1820-1900), 19th c. incensario has been formed from high content silver with beautiful detailing. The bottom tray suggests the sahumador was most probably carried in religious processions, typically by women. This is an excellent sahumador and a fine addition to any devotional collection.
