Antique Silver Ceremonial Bull Sahumador, Incensario

A beautiful and highly detailed toro incensario, or sahumador, has been cast from high content silver. The 19th century bull was used as a censer, with grains of incense burned ceremonially in the orifice on the top. A similar example of this is shown in Taullard's Platería Sudamericana, plate #55. The finely engraved details on this anatomically correct bull are exquisite - a testament to the superb silver work from Spanish colonial South America.
