Antique Spanish Colonial Silver Crown

This is a beautiful Spanish Colonial silver crown for a Madonna or Santo from South America. The large crown has been beautifully embellished using deep repousse with typical Spanish Colonial designs. The joining of the curved pieces to the base is not done with solder, but with hand formed silver joiners, typical of 19th century crowns. The orb and cross on the top may be from a later date. The corona is in fine condition and is a reminder of the exquisite silverwork of Colonial South America - a wonderful treasure!
