Antique Spanish Colonial Silver Rosary Box

This is a beautifully rendered antique silver rosary box in the shape of a book, or bible. The lightweight silver box has been formed from sheet silver with beautiful repoussé work on all sides with the addition of gilding on the edges of the book's pages, and hand formed hinges. The image of the Madonna is on the front above the date 1830, and the verso has a cross with IHS, a Latin abbreviation of Iesus Hominum Salvator or "Jesus, Savior of Mankind". This is a beautiful Spanish colonial treasure!
